What Peekly does well
Peekly is built around one idea: show the apps making money right now and explain why. Its homepage pairs estimated revenue and downloads with moving rankings, live ads, a TikTok-style creative feed, a studio leaderboard and 24/7 competitor alerts.
Its clearest strength is the paywall library. Peekly calls it a Peekly exclusive and says it has captured more than 11,000 dated paywall screens, sorted by monetization model such as hard paywall, free trial or lifetime purchase. It also tracks organic TikTok videos per app, with creators and engagement.
Peekly is also careful about what its numbers mean. Its methodology page, reviewed October 1, 2026, separates store facts from estimates, says an estimate can come from third-party market intelligence or Peekly’s own model, and warns that listings do not always share a common reference month. That candour is worth copying.
Where AppGazers fits instead
Coverage is the first difference. Peekly says it tracks 370K+ apps. AppGazers held 5.4 million iOS and Google Play listings on October 6, 2026, about 2.3 million of them with store-signal metrics. A bigger catalog matters most in the long tail, where small apps in narrow niches are exactly what an indie developer wants to find.
Estimate presentation is the second. Every AppGazers revenue and download figure belongs to one stated month (August 2026 when checked on October 6, 2026) and comes with an 80% band. You always know which month you are looking at, and how uncertain the model is.
Price is the third. AppGazers is free during beta with full workspace access after Google sign-in. Peekly’s free account is limited; full access was shown at $29 a month, or $20 a month billed yearly, on October 6, 2026.
- Google Play lifetime install brackets and their 7-day change, next to modeled downloads.
- Developer portfolio pages that sum estimates across a publisher’s apps and list its advertiser accounts.
- An MCP server so ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini CLI can query the same data after OAuth consent.
- A Chrome Web Store extension catalog with user counts, ratings and trending lists.
What AppGazers does not replace
AppGazers does not capture paywall or onboarding screens and does not track organic social videos. If your question is “how do the top apps in this niche price and present their subscription?”, Peekly answers it more directly.
Peekly’s ads view adds estimated EU reach and target countries per creative. AppGazers shows EU/UK reach for Meta commercial ads, a rough reach-based Meta spend band (not observed spend) and Google Ads Transparency creative. Neither tool is a full ASO operations suite; Peekly says so about its own Keyword Explorer, and AppGazers does not publish metadata or manage Apple Ads.
Same app, both tools: Duolingo
Peekly’s homepage feed shows Duolingo on the App Store at $87M per month. The card does not name the month.
AppGazers estimated August 2026 gross in-app spend for the Duolingo iOS listing at about $54M, with an 80% band of $25M to $136M, and downloads of about 4.7M (2.5M to 10.4M). The Google Play listing was estimated at about $20M ($8M to $47M) with about 12.7M downloads, and Play reports a lifetime install bracket of 500M+. Figures as of October 6, 2026.
Peekly’s $87M falls inside the AppGazers iOS band, but the two figures may cover different months and definitions, so the overlap does not show that either is accurate. One number on a card is not enough: always look for the period and the uncertainty.
Peekly pricing in 2026
As shown on peekly.app/pricing on October 6, 2026, Peekly sells one subscription with full access. The page showed $29 per month billed monthly, $24 per month billed quarterly (labelled 17% off) and $20 per month billed yearly (labelled 31% off), each next to a struck-through list price of $59, $49 and $41. A separate “What’s included” block also reads $20 per month, billed yearly. Discounts can end, so confirm the price at checkout. Peekly says no feature is locked behind a higher tier and there are no credits to watch. A free account gives limited access.
AppGazers is free during beta. That describes current access, not a permanent price, and the workspace requires Google sign-in.
How to switch from Peekly
Keep your Peekly free account while you compare. Most of the move is rebuilding a watchlist.
- Search each tracked app in AppGazers by name, App Store URL or Play package name and add it to Your apps.
- Turn on alerts for chart movements, review spikes, new or stopped ads, and estimate shifts.
- Rebuild niche searches with category, release-date, growth and estimate filters, then sort by rising.
- Keep using Peekly’s paywall library if pricing screens are part of your decision.
