Short answer: market research vs listing management

App Radar, part of SplitMetrics, is a listing management platform. Its pages describe competitor and keyword intelligence, ASO automation, ratings and review management, analytics tracking and a store listing bulk editor that publishes metadata to App Store Connect and Google Play Console.

AppGazers does not edit store listings; its only write action is your own watchlist. It helps you decide what to build and how to differentiate by combining catalog records, estimate bands, competitor reviews, keyword heuristics and public ad creative, free during beta. Pre-launch teams can start with AppGazers; teams publishing listing updates across many locales need App Radar or a similar tool.

  • Pick AppGazers for pre-build validation and competitor research on both stores.
  • Keep App Radar for drafting, localizing and publishing store metadata and replying to reviews.

What App Radar does well

The clearest App Radar strength is console integration. Teams can edit, localize and publish metadata to Apple and Google from one interface instead of copying text between consoles, with AI-powered keyword suggestions and automated translations. Its homepage cites 45 million keywords covered and more than 4 million apps tracked.

App Radar's help center describes an App Downloads feature that shows daily and total download trends for any Google Play app, collected daily with history from mid-2019. The feature is exclusive to Google Play and is calculated globally, without country or category breakdowns.

App Radar pricing and trial (checked October 6, 2026)

App Radar's pricing page lists Essentials at EUR 58 a month billed annually (EUR 690 a year) with 2 apps and 500 keywords, Growth at EUR 141 a month billed annually (EUR 1,690 a year), Scale at EUR 250 a month billed annually (EUR 2,990 a year) and a custom Enterprise plan. Monthly billing costs more.

Each plan starts with a 7-day free trial that requires a card and can be cancelled anytime. An API add-on is listed from EUR 199, and a review replies add-on with automated AI replies and translation from EUR 39. Enterprise customers can also use SplitMetrics Agency services.

Where AppGazers fits instead

AppGazers estimates downloads and gross in-app spend for both App Store and Google Play apps, not only Google Play, and shows each estimate for one stated month (August 2026 as of October 6, 2026) with a P10-P90 band. As of October 6, 2026 the catalog held about 5.4 million listings, about 2.3 million of them with store-signal metrics.

It also adds public ad creative from EU/UK Meta records and the Google Ads Transparency Center, which App Radar's pages do not establish, plus review research filtered by country, version and rating. Everything is free during beta, and the AppGazers MCP server exposes the same data to Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini CLI after an OAuth sign-in with Google.

What AppGazers does not replace

AppGazers does not connect to App Store Connect or Google Play Console, edit or publish metadata, translate listings, or reply to reviews. Its revenue estimates are gross in-app spend, exclude ad revenue, web sales and net profit, and are not country-level. Keyword scores are relative 0-100 heuristics, not search counts. If publishing listing changes is your weekly job, App Radar is the better tool.

Worked evaluation: vetting an audio journal concept (hypothetical)

This hypothetical evaluation splits an audio journal project between two owners. The research owner records competitor evidence and unresolved privacy or audio-recovery questions in AppGazers. The listing owner later checks the chosen promises against the real product, store character limits, localized wording and publishing permissions; App Radar is relevant to that second job. Neither tool turns an unsupported privacy claim into acceptable listing copy.

  • Step 1: Query AppGazers for leading audio journal and mindfulness apps on both stores and compare their estimate bands.
  • Step 2: Inspect EU/UK Meta and Google Ads Transparency creative for hooks about reflection and privacy.
  • Step 3: Filter low-star reviews by version to find playback or sync bugs in competing apps.
  • Step 4: Compare keyword heuristics across mindfulness terms as exploratory guides, not verified volume.

How to switch or combine the two

Use AppGazers for discovery and competitor briefs while the idea is still open. When the listing exists and you need to publish localized metadata or answer reviews, start App Radar's 7-day trial and bring over the positioning and keyword themes from your AppGazers research.
