ALTERNATIVE
Looking for an AppGoblin alternative?
AppGoblin is free for indie use, with B2B SDK plans from $399/mo. Compare it with AppGazers for revenue bands, keywords, reviews, ads and MCP.
AppGoblin is a free app research site strongest at SDK intelligence: which ad networks and SDKs apps use, app-ads.txt mapping and ad creatives, with paid B2B plans for SDK data. AppGazers is an alternative with a free plan for product research on iOS and Google Play: modeled revenue and download bands with uncertainty, keyword difficulty, review filters, public Meta and Google ads, a free MCP server (10 calls per tool a day, 100 a week) and a Chrome extension.

What AppGoblin does well
AppGoblin describes itself as a place to “track competitor app growth, analyze SDK reports, browse ad creatives”. Its distinctive data comes from inside apps: it detects SDKs in decompiled apps, ranks companies by SDK adoption, maps app-ads.txt files and collects ad creatives from live ad requests.
It is unusually open. Its code is public on GitHub “for transparency” (it needs AppGoblin’s own database to run), and it publishes free datasets of app descriptions and app metrics under CC BY 4.0 with a required backlink, downloadable after a free sign-up.
A sample app page shows installs and their trends, the rating breakdown, MAU, an estimated monthly revenue split between in-app purchases and ads, ad creatives, SDKs by category and crawl dates.
Where AppGazers fits instead
AppGazers is built for the product question “is this niche worth building for?” rather than the ad-tech question “which SDKs does this app run?”. You can sort apps by rising or trending, filter by category, release date and estimate range, read reviews by version and stars, and score keywords by country.
Its estimates explain their uncertainty. Each revenue and download figure carries its recorded period and an 80% band, and apps too small to model show as “under $5K”. AppGoblin labels its MAU and revenue figures as estimates without describing a method on the pages we read.
AI and browser access come on every plan: a remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in (the Free plan includes free MCP server (10 calls per tool a day, 100 a week)) and a Chrome extension that shows estimates on App Store and Google Play pages.
What AppGazers does not replace
AppGazers does not detect SDKs, rank SDK vendors, map app-ads.txt or sell bulk data exports. Ad networks, DSPs and fraud teams should use AppGoblin or another SDK intelligence source for those jobs.
AppGazers also has no open datasets. If you need a CC BY 4.0 file of app metrics for your own analysis, AppGoblin’s free datasets are the faster route.
