What Apptopia does well
Apptopia sells mobile data to people who model companies. Its homepage says it covers 3,500+ public-company tickers, keeps point-in-time history for backtesting, refreshes core metrics as often as every four hours, and reports median correlations of 0.8+ between its app data and companies’ reported KPIs.
Its usage data comes partly from a proprietary panel of more than 15 million real-user devices. Apptopia Advanced adds churn, retention by cohort and user overlap between apps. Its brand product, Market Explorer, covers downloads, revenue, DAU, MAU, sessions, time spent, sentiment and demographics across 160+ countries.
Its product line is organised by buyer: Apptopia Base for quant-driven strategies, Apptopia Advanced for fundamental analysis, KPI forecasting, a Mobile Performance Index, and separate plans for brands and for sales teams. That structure tells you who the product is for.
Apptopia also runs an MCP server that answers questions from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot and shows how each metric has tracked reported results. It says its data is now available on the Bloomberg Terminal.
Where AppGazers fits
Apptopia’s pricing pages describe both Market Explorer and its investor datasets as enterprise-level services sold through a demo. AppGazers is free during beta after Google sign-in.
AppGazers is shaped around product decisions rather than portfolio decisions. You can sort apps by rising or trending, filter by category, release date and estimate range, read reviews by version and stars, and score keywords by country before you write a line of code.
Every estimate states its period and an 80% band, and the developer view shows a publisher’s apps together with the Meta and Google advertiser accounts linked to them.
Coverage is wide for a free tool: 5.4 million listings, including about 3.5 million on Google Play, with lifetime install brackets for Play apps and a separate Chrome Web Store catalog for extension builders.
What AppGazers does not replace
AppGazers has no device panel, so it has no DAU, MAU, sessions, retention, churn, user overlap or demographics. It does not map apps to stock tickers, correlate with reported KPIs or deliver data feeds. Investors and analysts should look at Apptopia or Sensor Tower for those.
Same publisher, both tools: Tinder
Apptopia’s homepage shows a chart titled “Tinder DAU Demographic vs Payer Growth”, the kind of usage view AppGazers does not have.
What AppGazers adds is the store and ad layer. It estimated August 2026 gross in-app spend for the Tinder iOS listing at about $55M, with an 80% band of $26M to $140M, and downloads of about 3.2M. The Google Play listing was estimated at about $29M ($12M to $68M), with about 3.6M downloads and a 500M+ lifetime install bracket. Figures as of October 6, 2026.
The iOS developer page links five advertiser accounts across Meta and Google, with 282 creatives on record and 121 active. Usage tells you who stays; ads and estimates tell you how they arrive and what they spend.
Apptopia pricing in 2026
Apptopia did not publish prices on October 6, 2026. Its brand pricing page calls Market Explorer “an enterprise-level service”, and its investor pricing page says the same of Apptopia Base. Both route to a demo request. Apptopia also says it sells data by sector, so investors can buy coverage for just the tickers they follow.

- Search each tracked app in AppGazers and save it to Your apps for chart, review, ad and estimate alerts.
- Open developer pages to see a publisher’s whole portfolio with summed estimates.
- Keep Apptopia, or another panel source, if usage or demographic data drives your decision.
