What Appfigures does well

Appfigures started as analytics for your own apps, and that is still its strongest layer. Its plans consolidate downloads, revenue, subscriptions, ad spend and payouts across stores, track rankings, featuring, ratings and reviews, and let you reply to reviews. The free Starter plan connects five of your own apps.

It is also a mature ASO toolkit. Paid plans track keyword rankings (daily on the entry tier and hourly on higher tiers, per its plan table), suggest keywords, show which keywords competitors rank for, and reveal competitors’ Apple Ads keywords. Its homepage reports 4.4 million apps and 2.2 million keywords tracked.

Appfigures explains its estimates openly. Its Knowledge Base says its AI models are trained on real download and revenue data from hundreds of thousands of apps that share data with it, with a double opt-out so training data never leaks as an estimate, and that it estimates most apps by country with daily updates.

Where AppGazers fits

Competitor research is the job AppGazers is built for, and it is free during beta. On Appfigures’ pricing page, the Free, Monitor and Optimize plans list zero tracked competitors. Boost adds them: $349.99 a month billed annually ($399.99 billed monthly) for 5 competitors, rising to $649.99 a month billed annually ($899.99 monthly) for 25. In AppGazers you can save any competitor to Your apps and get alerts for chart moves, review spikes, new or stopped ads and estimate shifts.

AppGazers also starts from the whole market, not your account. You can sort 5.4 million listings by rising or trending, filter by category, release date and estimate range, then open a developer’s portfolio to see every app AppGazers tracks for that developer and its advertiser accounts.

And it connects estimates to creative. AppGazers shows the Meta commercial ads delivered in the EU and UK and the Google Ads Transparency creative for the same competitor, which explains part of how an app grows.

What AppGazers does not replace

AppGazers is not an analytics product for your own apps. It does not import App Store Connect or Play Console data, consolidate payouts, track subscriptions or reply to reviews.

It also does not track keyword ranks hourly, show competitors’ Apple Ads keywords, or produce country-level revenue estimates. If those are weekly needs, Appfigures’ paid plans fit better, and you could run both: Appfigures for their own apps, AppGazers for the market around them.

Same app, both tools: Strava

AppGazers estimated August 2026 gross in-app spend for the Strava iOS listing at about $21.6M, with an 80% band of $10.1M to $54.8M, and downloads of about 2.9M (1.5M to 6.4M). The Google Play listing was estimated at about $7.6M ($3.1M to $17.9M) with about 2.8M downloads and a lifetime install bracket of 100M+. Figures as of October 6, 2026.

AppGazers also links 107 active ads to Strava in its Meta and Google ad data, with Meta EU reach of about 8.3M. Appfigures’ plan table lists download and revenue estimates on Boost and Amplify (and on its higher Market Intelligence plans), so if you have one of those, pull the same month there and compare the figures.

Appfigures pricing in 2026

Appfigures’ FAQ says its free trial needs no credit card, unlocks Optimize features and falls back to the free plan when it ends.

How to switch from Appfigures

Most teams do not need to leave Appfigures entirely. Move the research half and keep what runs your own apps.

  • Keep Appfigures, or your store consoles, for your own downloads, revenue and review replies.
  • Add competitors to AppGazers Your apps instead of paying for a higher competitor tier.
  • Rebuild your keyword shortlist with country-level difficulty and opportunity scores.
  • Use the AppGazers MCP server if you want an AI assistant to run the comparisons.
