MCP WORKFLOW
MCP ASO Keyword Research: An Evidence-First AI Workflow
Use an MCP-connected AI agent for ASO keyword research while checking keyword metrics, ranking apps, reviews, store policy, and uncertainty.
MCP can make ASO keyword research faster by letting an AI assistant retrieve keyword, rank, app, and review context in one workflow. It does not make a difficulty score universal or prove that a keyword will convert. Keep the process evidence-first: define the store and country, retrieve a small set, inspect ranking apps, and validate changes against first-party store guidance.
At a glance
| Step | Agent can retrieve | Human must decide |
|---|---|---|
| Seed the question | Suggestions and related terms | Product relevance and locale |
| Evaluate competition | Difficulty/opportunity and ranking apps | Whether the metric method fits the decision |
| Read demand signals | Reviews and store context | Customer intent and product promise |
| Change listing metadata | A documented hypothesis | Policy, brand, legal review, and experiment design |
Start with a tightly scoped ASO question
Specify platform, storefront, language, app category, and a user problem. “Find the best keywords” is too broad: it invites an agent to blend different countries and metric definitions. “Compare ten English US iOS phrases for a habit tracker” is an inspectable research task.
Use the same scope when comparing tools. A keyword suggestion is a candidate, not evidence that the phrase is permitted, relevant, or likely to improve conversion.
Connect AppGazers with minimum access
Add https://appgazers.com/mcp to a compatible MCP client and authenticate through OAuth. mcp:read permits the catalog research needed for keyword work. Do not request mcp:user unless the workflow actually needs watchlist changes, and never put credentials in a prompt or URL.
If the client does not support remote Streamable HTTP with OAuth, use another supported client rather than trying to adapt the server to an unsupported token flow.
Retrieve a comparison, not a single score
Ask the agent to retrieve suggestions, documented keyword metrics, current ranking apps, and review themes for a limited set. A useful analysis says which measure is an estimate or proprietary score, shows the query scope, and names the apps competing for visibility.
Try this prompt
Using AppGazers MCP, research up to ten [iOS/Google Play] keywords for [app concept] in [country]. For each, return the tool’s demand, difficulty, traffic, and opportunity fields exactly as labeled; the ranking apps and source links; and relevant review language. Do not call these values first-party search volume. Recommend three hypotheses, each with a reason and a test to validate it.Validate in the store and iterate safely
Check Apple’s search guidance or Google Play’s listing guidance before changing metadata. Review the actual ranking listings, make sure the phrase matches the app’s functionality, and measure conversion and quality after a controlled change.
Do not let an agent bulk-edit metadata or claim that a keyword was “won.” MCP tools provide research; they do not schedule jobs or replace a store console, experiment plan, or policy review.
